Final Nets
Re-usable hangers
I found this cleaver idea at cabot corcus in Bristol. Where people and shops put there old or unwanted clothes hangers on this rail and people who need some pick them up! I always find I have too many, or too little hangers so I think this strategy is brilliant!

WRE
As I couldn't make the trip to the WRE I decided to go today! I was amazed at how many differant materials there were. Before I came here I collected some big cardboard boxes from work in various sizes. Unfortunately the box's weren't big enough so another reason I came here was to see if i could find anything of any use.
One of the staff members kindly let me have some big round sheets of card for my project, I was obviously very gratefull so left a donation. I now have the materials needed to produce my packaging. Below is the card i will be using an also the front of the centre ...

Beer Mat concept
After reading Andy's comments about my packaging, he suggested making use from the flap at the front of the box. So i though i could incorporate a 'pop out' beer mat into the flap. This is my design ...
Final designs
Here are my final designs for my packaging ... I've tried to keep consistency throughout, using the same typeface WVB requested, graphics and colours. I wanted to reflect a natural theme as i think portrays 'eco-friendy' better. Iv'e tried to keep an even balance between modern and traditional to try and capture a wider audience. e.g traditional colours, typeface, graphics. But to modernise this if tried to add quirky strap-lines and placed some of the typography on a slight slant, nothing major but visually this can make a difference.

Final concept
This is my final design. I prefer this as the text is separated
but i feel it fits in better around the illustration and the
strip at the top with the logo. I think the colours are pretty
generic so it should appeal to both genders. I also think that by
having the illustrations running off the page it make the whole design
tighter and adds a sense of solidarity. I like the traditional illustration of the hops
but I feel the typography adds a modern element, hopefully achieving
the correct balance.
Concept 3, progress ...
Here are some alterations of the concept below.
I like the design but i'm not sure about the
text and how its positioned. It either looks too
clumped together of too scatty.
Mock-up concept 3.
I prefer this concept the the earlier one. I think i need
to work on the strip at the top and also the stamp the
left hand side about the money box, i'm not sure
this use of typography fits in with the rest of
the design.
Mock-up of concept 1.
This is a mock up from my first thumbnail. It's just a rough
so i can get an idea of what it will look like. I think it would
look better if I thinned the some of the outlines and
maybe changed the colour of the brown as it looks
a bit too boring and doesn't really reflect what the
package is for.
Re-drawn logos
Because I need to use WVB and Legges logos on my packaging I have re-drawn them. I have done this because if it took them off the internet they would be pixelated so by doing this I will be able to have them any size without pixilation as they're vectors. Here is what i have produced ...
More thumbnails
1. I quite like this design, i will use the barley in a stencil
style, also all of the designs will be produced using a max
of three colours.
2. I like the idea of using stencil type designs made out of hops and leafs
should appeal to both genders. Will also wrap around the side of
the packaging.
3. I like the idea of having this vinal leaf and hop illustration appearing
from the top of the packaging it also fits in the appropriate logos
and money box stamp. I may carry this design forward and progress it further.
4. Again a vinal illustration, a variation of concept 3. I may progress this as well.
5. My first initial design i'm not too sure about this concept.
6. Again I have gone down the vinal illustration incorporating the ingredients.
I think its appropriate but it will use a lot of ink, something I don't want to do!
7. A simple design with logos placed into the leaf i think this could look a
bit of 'something and nothing' though.
8. Again I have tried to use the bottle idea but I don't think this is necessarily
needed the flap will allow people to see the contents.
